Service Opportunities at ACS

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”        1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

At Allendale Christian School, our mission is to graduate students who are academically prepared, called to service, and spiritually equipped. The call to service is a very important part of preparing students to be good stewards of the gifts that God has blessed them with. In fact, service and meeting the real needs of real people is a significant focus of the Teaching for Transformation program that provides the framework for education at ACS. We seek out opportunities for students to serve others, both in the global and local arenas.

Of the 10 Characteristics of a graduate at ACS, two specifically refer to the call to service:
  • Concerned for their fellow man and eager to show Christ’s love to others through action. (Justice Seeker).
  • Servants within their community (Servant Worker and Community Builder).

Every student at ACS will have the opportunity to serve each year in different ways. ACS has formed partnerships with many community organizations who are eager to have our students come in and serve them in various ways. Our hope is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around us. The culmination of service at ACS is the opportunity for ACS 8th grade students and graduates to travel to Guatemala to serve with Paradise Bound. This happens every three years and is an opportunity for current 8th grade students, as well as ACS alumni who are in 9th and 10th grade.
