Service Opportunities at ACS

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”        1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

The call to service is a very important part of preparing students to be good stewards of the gifts God has blessed them with. In fact, service and meeting the real needs of real people is a significant focus of the Teaching for Transformation program that provides the framework for education at ACS. We seek opportunities for students to serve others, both in the global and local arenas.

Of the ten characteristics of a graduate at ACS, two specifically refer to the call to service:
  • Justice Seekers | Concerned for their fellow man and eager to show Christ’s love to others through action.
  • Servant Workers and Community Builders | Servants within their community.

Every student at ACS has the opportunity to serve each year in different ways. ACS has formed partnerships with many community organizations that are eager to have our students come and be the hands and feet of Jesus to them. The culmination of service at ACS is the opportunity for eighth-grade students and graduates to travel to Guatemala to serve with Paradise Bound. This happens every three years and is an opportunity for current eighth-grade students, as well as ACS alumni who are in grades 9 and 10.
