Educational Faculty Positions

Candidates should have a deep love for Jesus, an understanding of teaching from a Reformed worldview, and a passion for working with kids to equip them academically, spiritually, and socially to gratefully serve God in all aspects of life.  We are accepting cover letters and resumes for the following positions for the 2025-2026 school year:

Candidates should

Education Requirements
  • Must have a degree in education, or be near completion of a degree in Education.
  • Must hold, or be a candidate for, a Michigan Teaching License.

This position is for an upper elementary class and begins in August/early September until the end of November.

Paraprofessional Positions

ACS is seeking candidates for multiple Paraeducator positions for the 2026-2027 school year. While educational experience is preferred, it is not required for every Para position. What is required is a love for the Lord and a passion for working with kids. Below are the main areas where we have needs:

Directly work with students who have specific, identified needs. This position requires prior educational experience. This will include:

  • Collaboration with the ESS Teacher to develop and execute academic lessons for students that have specific learning goals.
  • Independent and collaborative monitoring of student progress and adjusting materials and lessons to meet specific student needs.
  • Providing social and behavioral support for students based on plans developed specifically for that student/students by the ESS Teacher and Director of Student Support.
  • Working with the ESS teacher to provide feedback at regular intervals (marking periods). 

Work with 3rd and 4th grade students who are identified as needing strategic intervention in the area of reading. All curriculum and programs are provided  by the RTI Specialist.  Weekly communication with the classroom teacher and the RTI Specialist is essential to monitor the progress of the students.
 

Work under the supervision of the ESS Teacher and 5th-8th Grade classroom teachers to provide a variety of support. Support includes 

  • Entering the classroom to help individual students during specific class times
  • Working with small groups outside of class
     

Directly work with students who have sensory needs. This position is complementary to classroom teachers and social workers and requires the individual to assume responsibility with minimum direct supervision. The role includes:

  • Providing sensory breaks for students, as needed.
  • Communication with classroom teachers and social workers.
  • Coordination with the Social Work Team to create sensory plans, develop goals, and monitor student progress.
  • Tracking drop-in sensory needs for students who don't have plans.
  • Maintaining the sensory room and tools.

Help us safely transport students — and make a difference every day!
 

We're looking to fill an immediate need, starting ASAP and continuing into the summer months. This position is typically from 3-6 p.m., Monday–Friday, though the final number of days per week is TBD.  Searching for someone who is fun, loves children and loves the Lord.
