My deep hope for my students is that through their learning they will understand their own God-designed work so that they, and therefore their part in the body of Christ, will be healthy, growing, and full of love allowing them to influence the world for God’s glory.
I went to Allendale Christian and Unity Christian before graduating from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Mathematics and Physical Education and an emphasis in Secondary Education. I taught and coached at Martin Public Schools and Kenowa Hills Public Schools before taking some time off to be with our kids. While home with them, I taught a few classes at GVSU, wrote some summer math curriculum, and tutored students in middle school Math, Algebra and Algebra 2. I have been teaching K – 3 Spanish at ACS since 2012. While that was a beautiful time, I am thrilled to return to the middle school classroom.
I was born and raised in Allendale, and it would seem that I have not strayed far from here. I met Tim at Grand Valley (technically in New York City) and married him 2002. We now have two beautiful kids. As a family we love to travel, play sports, play with our goldens Copper and Ranger, and do life with other people. We see the world through a slightly different lens after experiencing some God-movements in our so-called plans. One of these movements allowed us to form a deep love with the people in the country of Colombia. I am excited to be using the gifts God has given me and learning how I can glorify Him more in all that I do.
