My deep hope for my students is that they learn that they were made to worship and they use their bodies, instruments, and voices to praise our AUDIENCE OF ONE.
After high school, I attended Calvin College and graduated in 2012 with my bachelor of music education degree with an emphasis in instrumental music. In 2017, I graduated from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL with my master’s degree in music education with a focus on elementary music. I taught K-5 elementary music at Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools near Kalamazoo, MI for 6 year and began teaching at Allendale Christian in 2019. During the summer, I also am on staff with two high school marching bands in the Kalamazoo area.
I grew up in Hudsonville with my dad, mom, and two sisters. I attended Hudsonville Christian Schools and Unity Christian High School where I graduated in 2008. I recently moved to Holland and attend Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville where I enjoy participating on the praise team and helping with childrens’ worship. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, ukulele, and antique shopping with my mom, grandma, and sisters. I am excited to be back in the community where I grew up and be a part of Christian education again.
