I graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Elementary Education and Special Education with an endorsement in cognitive impairment in 2000. I began my teaching career in a 3rd/4th multi-age classroom at Oakdale Christian School in Grand Rapids. From 2002-2006, I had the privilege of teaching 3rd grade at Kelloggsville Christian and Legacy Christian Schools. God then led me to Allendale Christian school where I taught 4th grade and a 3rd/4th grade combination class for 11 years. For the past two years, I have stayed home to take care of my two younger children. However, God had other plans and I have returned to ACS as a Kindergarten teacher! I am incredibly excited and thankful to be back serving God in this Christ-centered community.
I grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana and moved to Grand Rapids to work at Camp Roger in the summers and to attend Calvin College during the school year. My husband, Ben, and I, met at Camp Roger and currently live in Grand Rapids with our two children, 7 and 2. We live close to Grand Rapids Christian Elementary and love walking to school each day where our 7 year old attends. Our church home is Sherman Street Christian Reformed Church, and we are so blessed to be a part of this community of believers. Besides teaching, I enjoy gardening, biking, camping, being outside with my kids, and cooking.
MY DEEP HOPE
My Deep Hope for my students is that you grow in the joy and wonder of knowing God and overflow with the love of Jesus in your learning and play.
