I am excited to join the Allendale Christian school community this year as a 1st grade teacher! I grew up in Zeeland, Michigan with my parents and two younger sisters, and attended Zeeland and Holland Christian schools – so Christian schooling is very close to my heart. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going outside, hiking, playing the piano, and baking.
I graduated from Hope College in May 2018. There, I studied Elementary Education and English language arts. During my time at Hope, I also had the opportunity to lead science camps for kindergarten through second grade students through the Explore Hope program. I have also spent the past six years teaching gymnastics classes at Flipside Gymnastics in Zeeland. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamt of becoming a teacher, so this is a very exciting next step for me!
My passion is to help each child discover the unique gifts that God has given them, and to help guide them in using those gifts for his kingdom. I want to foster a classroom community where my students will learn not only with, but also from each other. My prayer is that they will see and experience the body of Christ as we share our gifts with one another.
