Spanish students - My deep hope for you is that you would see God’s heart for you and for all people through learning Spanish and learning about many other cultures. I hope that you will grow in God’s love for you and for the people around you.
I attended Jenison Christian, Unity Christian, and then Calvin College, where I studied Spanish, Math, and Secondary Education. Later, I received my Masters from Liberty University in Christian Ministries and Global Studies. After college, I spent 5 years teaching Secondary Math and Bible at the International School of Tegucigalpa in Honduras. Then I spent one year teaching Secondary Math at Rio International School in Brazil. For the last two years, I worked as an administrative assistant at the church my family attended in Logansport, Indiana. I am excited to continue my teaching journey as the Spanish teacher at Allendale Christian!
I grew up in Jenison, MI, but moved away to Tegucigalpa, Honduras after college. I met my husband, Tony, there and we spent two more years teaching in Honduras after we got married. Then, we moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a year and our daughter, Kylynn, was born while we were living there. For the last two years, we lived in Indiana and our son, Hudson, was born there. We are looking forward to being closer to my family and friends after many years of living at some distance from them. As a family we enjoy playing outside, going to the park, and spending time with friends and family. In the rare downtime, I enjoy reading, cooking/baking, playing sports, and watching sports with my husband.
