I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a Science endorsement for grades 6-8. I began my career as a paraprofessional and then as a third grade teacher for Hudsonville Public Schools. Following the birth of my third child, I felt God calling me to stay home and raise my children. When my youngest started school, I began subbing locally and at ACS. In the fall of 2018, I did a Kindergarten maternity leave at Allendale Christian. In 2019, I joined the ACS team as a paraprofessional in the Kindergarten classrooms.
I grew up in Hudsonville and attended Hudsonville Public Schools. I married my husband, Paul, in 2002 and we have been blessed with four children. Lydia is a sophomore at Unity Christian. Ava (8th), Isaac (6th), and Lilah (1st) all attend Allendale Christian. We live in Allendale and attend Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyoming. In addition to teaching, I enjoy heading up north to our family cottage, taking vacations around the United States, and attending Unity football and basketball games. We, as a family, have been blessed by the staff and community at ACS, and I am looking forward to partnering with parents to educate the next generation of Kingdom seekers!
